What is Electronic Check Collection?

Statistics show that the majority of bounced checks are unintentional due to a miscalculation of funds in a checking account. In the right hands, electronic collection is a quiet and respectful service that does not embarrass or alienate check writers with threatening letters or phone calls. Notification of the electronic check policy is posted at the point-of-sale.

Electronic collection can occur only if the accounts are open and funded. When check writers have sufficient funds in their accounts, we process two electronic debits, one for the check amount and another for the allowable state return fee. Each state has a return fee ranging from $15 to $35 that may be collected.

Once the electronic recovery is completed, our clients' debts are resolved without any negative impact on the check writers' credit history. All electronic debits are documented on the check writers' bank statements along with our toll-free number in case there are any questions.

Our operating system is designed to recover our clients' debts while protecting their valuable relationship with their customers. If we are unable to locate funds or if the accounts are closed, we send the returned check debt to our in-house secondary service, CashFlow Recovery (CFR). CFR operates like a traditional agency that sends out letters and makes telephone calls to the check writer.
