I saw your 800# on my bank statement. Who are you and what do you do?

Cash Flow Solutions is an electronic check recovery service. If our 800 number is on your statement, it means your check is in our system as a returned check written to one of our merchants. The merchant chose to use an electronic service because it protects customers from the traditional collection agency's embarrassing phone calls or letters. Also, electronic recovery will not go against your credit rating.

Did you take money out of my account?

If you bounced a check to one of the merchants who uses our electronic check recovery service, money might have been recovered from your account. When our processing center receives a returned check, we call the check writer's bank to see if there are funds available to cover the check amount and the allowable state return fee. If there are funds, we re-present the check and fee to the account and include our toll-free number and website on their bank statement. Once the transaction is completed, the debt with the merchant is completely resolved without any impact on a credit report.

I tried to write a check today to the same merchant and he wouldn't accept my check. Why is the merchant not accepting my check?

Many merchants won't accept a new check until the old check debt has been paid. Once the debt is resolved, our merchants will welcome your checks. We can access the system to review the status of your check.

I saw your notice on the cash register. I had to close my account. Do you have my check?

Depending on your bank location, we may not have the check yet. We can get some information about your check and tell you immediately if your check is in our system.

I have just been notified by the bank that I have a returned check. Can you please wait to re-deposit until I get paid?

We are willing to work with you to determine the best time to re-deposit your check. Our clients have instructed us to help their customers any way that we can. We offer many payment options.

Has my bounced check been paid?

Electronic recovery resolves problems with a check without affecting a person's credit rating. Our system is so effective that most returned items are re-presented and funds collected within the first week. We can look to see if your check has been paid.

Are you allowed to call my bank and check my account?

We are allowed to call your bank and ask if you have adequate funds in your account to make good on your check. Your bank is not disclosing how much money is available in your account or any additional confidential information.

What happens if I don't pay my debt?

In most cases, for accounts that aren't funded or are closed, we send the debt to a traditional collection agency. The agency pursues collection through letters and telephone calls and may accelerate to credit bureau reporting or the court system.

Can I use my credit card?

Yes, we accept credit cards and use MoneyGram® as another payment option.

Why do you charge a return fee?

Trying to collect on a check is costly, and the return fee supports the efforts. When a customer writes a bad check, the merchant also has to pay a bank fee anywhere from $5 to $20 on the returned check. Our goal is to reach a solution that is fair for both sides.

Will my bad check be on my credit report, or will this damage my ability to write checks?

We access credit reporting after all recovery efforts have failed. Your check writing privileges are not ruined, and as long as there are no outstanding checks in our system, you can continue to write checks.
